THIEVES made off with wigs in a third raid on a Gloucester shop.

Michelle Sabrina wigs and hairpieces, in The Oxebode, had its window smashed at the weekend before thieves made off with three wigs.

Another 47 wigs had to be taken out of the shop window because glass smashed everywhere, rendering them unusable.

But it has emerged that it is the third attack on the shop in just two years. Each time the same window has been targeted.

And charity shops along the same stretch have also been targeted in the past.

Owner Caroline Palmer said: "This is the third attack in just two years. They will never catch these people though.

"A massive amount of force had to be used to smash that window because it has been laminated after the previous times.

"This street always gets neglected so it is no wonder that this has happened to us."

The total cost of the damage is expected to come in at around £2,000.

The raid is thought to have been carried out between 5.30pm on Saturday, when the shop closed, and 11am on Sunday when the shop was reopened.

A security guard from King's Walk shopping centre alerted the shop's staff to what had happened.

Police are carrying out forensic examinations in a bid to find clues that might help them find the culprits.

It is not thought that nearby CCTV cameras captured the crime.

Anyone with information is asked to contact police on 101 quoting incident number 152 of March 10.
