Gloucestershire choir teams up with annoying Go Compare singer
BRITAIN'S most annoying opera singer Gio Compario will be showcasing his more musical talents when he teams up with Dursley Male Voice Choir for a unique fundraising concert.
The choir is delighted to be sharing the bill with Wynne Evans, better known by many as the flamboyant and irritating star of the Go Compare insurance comparison website TV ads.
The 70-strong choir will be performing with Wynne at Cheltenham Town Hall on March 23 to raise money for cancer charity Hope for Tomorrow, which offers mobile treatment in the county.
"We plan to sing seven songs with Wynne and he will perform two solo slots," said Huw Jenkins from of the choir.

Opera favourite Nessun Dorma is likely to be included in the programme.
"We're very excited about it." said Huw.
Wynne's alter ego Gio Compario has become a love-hate figure.
He has been the face of Go Compare since 2009 and recent TV adverts have featured former tennis star Sue Barker, scientist Stephen Hawking, England Under-21 football coach Stuart Pearce and survival expert Ray Mears saving the UK from his singing.
In reality, Wynne is one of the country's leading tenors, with a particular talent for lighter and comic roles.
Dursley MVC was founded in 1978 and has members from across the county. More than 500 of the 800 tickets for the Cheltenham concert, which cost from £10, have already been sold. Call 08445 762 210 to book.

“We're absolutely delighted that Wynne Evans (aka Gio Compario) will be teaming up with the Dursley Male Voice Choir in aid of the Charity on the 23rd March at Cheltenham Town Hall, during what is the Charity's 10th Anniversary Year.
We also urge anyone who is interested in hearing Wynne and the Choir sing to call the above number as soon as possible to avoid disappointment as tickets are selling fast.
Huge thanks to both Wynne and the Dursley Male Voice Choir for nominating Hope for Tomorrow to benefit from the evening. Funds received will go directly towards our Mobile Chemotherapy Unit expansion project.

“He's actually a very talented guy that can sing alongside anyone and not come second best.
Here he is singing the language of his country of birth.
