Gloucestershire students preparing for poetry championships
Budding writers at the University of Gloucestershire are preparing to show off their talents this weekend.
UniSlam! is the UK’s first ever national inter-university poetry championships.
It’s being held at Birmingham University on Sunday, October 27.
Six students from the University of Gloucestershire have been training together for the competition. Four will perform on the day with two in reserve.

They are all creative writing students based at Francis Close Hall and are studying for their BA, MA or PhD.
Lecturer in Creative Writing Angela France said: “The team have been working really hard on their poetry and on their performance; however far they get in this competition, I know they are going to be great representatives for University of Gloucestershire Creative Writing students.”
