Favourite Kauto Star fell and despite a valiant run second favourite Denman could not keep with the pace as Imperial Commander thundered to a historic victory.

“I'm not a fan of horse racing but I had a small (losing) bet in the Gold Cup.
My next bet will be in the Grand National.
Ergo,I don't need to watch the races at the track. I just catch the results on the news.
It's good to see a local winner,though.”
