Golfers tee off to raise £2,000 for good causes
GOLFERS teed up to raise around £2,000 for a good cause at a special memorial day.
More than 40 members of the Twin Arrows golf society, from Cheltenham, raised the impressive sum for the paediatrics unit at Gloucestershire Royal Hospital after a round at Puckrup Golf Club.
After playing 18 holes, they held a fundraising raffle and auction at the Greatfield pub, in Hatherley.
Items under the hammer included a Team GB Olympic shirt with the signatures of 10 gold medal winning athletes including Jessica Ennis, Ben Ainslie and Sir Chris Hoy, which fetched £1,050.

Patrick Cox, who helped organise the event, said: "The whole day went really well and we were delighted to raise such a good amount.
"We got to watch Europe bring home the Ryder Cup after wards so it was a perfect day."
The Twin Arrows golf society held the golf day in memory of Keith Jenkins, one of its former members, who died three years ago at the age of 54.
