Grasshoppers hit back almost immediately with two great raids on the Lions goal, and eventually they got their just reward with a well-taken equaliser.

Both teams continued to battle in midfield and a lovely dribble from Matthew Evans set Gus Bygrave free, and he slotted the ball home to make it 2-1 to the Lions.
The game was far from over and Grasshoppers were thwarted by Harry Hope in the Lions goal.
Late in the second half Matthew Evans received the ball outside the penalty box, spun and shot spectacularly first time into the far corner to secure the 3-1 victory for the Lions.
