Grand opening of new project common room
STAFF at a housing project for young people in Cheltenham will open their new common room today.
Cotswold House, which currently provides accommodation and support for 14 vulnerable young people, is holding the event to officially launch the project's new space.
It has been built to encourage residents to engage with the range of social and leisure activities planned by the project.
The Common Room is due to be officially opened by the town Mayor Councillor Anne Regan. MP Martin Horwood will also make a special guest appearance alongside up and coming young band, One Condition.
Mr Horwood said: "I'm really looking forward to finding out more about the support that is given to young people at Cotswold House.
"This is a service that works for some of my most vulnerable young constituents and I'm keen to hear their points of view and experiences."
The day will see a host of activities including Wii and pool competitions, ice cream and refreshments, a raffle and the unveiling of the residents' very first film premiere about their home 'Cotswold House Cribs'.
The event will run from 11am to 3pm at the house, in Gloucester Road.
