Danny was serving with Barry in Afghanistan when he was injured and they have remained very close friends. They came up with the idea to try the Devizes to Westminster Canoe Marathon as a way to challenge themselves but also to help raise money for The Rifles charity Care for Casualties.
The Rifles Charity was set up to help assist casualties during their rehabilitation process.
