Gymnasts jumping for joy with championship success
IT has been a great year for the Rowan Gymnastics Club with many members celebrating success in this Olympic year.
The Cheltenham club won nine medals from a possible nine at the South West Tumbling Championships, held at Wellsprings Leisure Centre in Taunton, with four champions in the process.
Emma Powling (National 3 age 13+), Katie Dagnall (National 2 age 13+), Katie Castle (National 2 age nine/ten) and Jordan Lawrence (men's National 1 age 13+) all took gold medals in their levels.
The club's Robert Penny and Jasmine Hart competed at the British Elite Tumbling Finals, representing the South-West, at the Fenton Manor Leisure Complex in Stoke-on-Trent.

Penny claimed the silver medal, with only a score of 0.75 separating first and third places, and Hart finished seventh in the country in her elite level.
The club has now set its sights on the British NDP (National Development Programme) Tumbling Championships early next year.
Twenty hopefuls also competed at the Girls Gloucestershire Novice Floor and Vault Championships with further medals being won against four other clubs.
