Step On to the Wychwood Festival this summer to catch one of the leading lights of the Madchester indie scene.

Salford legends the Happy Mondays have just announced they will be headlining the festival on the Saturday night (June 5).

After a couple of reincarnations, the band retains three of the original members including front-man Shaun Ryder, drummer Gary Wheelan and, of course, percussionist and dancer, Mark Berry better known as Bez.

The Wychwood Festival is widely regarded as the UK’s most family and green friendly festival and it is now tradition that the Independent Stage, where the band will be appearing, is a strictly indie/alternative affair.

This year’s festival, at Cheltenham Racecourse, is from June 4 to 6.

Weekend tickets are now on sale and cost £110 for adults. For more information, visit www.wychwoodfestival.com.
