AMPUTEE soldier Captain Guy Disney will tell the inspirational tale of his trek to the North Pole at a charity event.

The Light Dragoons officer will speak at an Auction of Promises in aid of St Andrew's School and Walking With The Wounded, at 7pm on November 17, in Chedworth Village Hall.

Guy, from Guiting Power, was one of four severely injured Afghanistan veterans to complete the first unsupported trek by wounded soldiers to the North Pole last year. Their aim was to raise £2 million.

Prince Harry joined the team in the first stage of the expedition and their feat was shown on Harry's Arctic Heroes.
