Heartfelt plea for family pet
A SEVEN-year-old boy has been left heartbroken after his cherished pet cat Mr Whitesocks went missing.
The animal went AWOL from the family home in Thames Road, Cheltenham on July 29.

Now Travis Williams is making a heartfelt plea to Echo readers to help him get him back.
He said: “I'm really sad, because I think the world of Socks.”
His mum, Sarah Gregory, said he was devastated.
Travis believes the cat may have mistakenly jumped into a stranger's car because he's renowned for playfully pouncing around the neighbourhood, especially into local vehicles.
“He always gets in my mum's car,” he said. “He loves to play there with his best mate Twinkle.”
Sarah said: 'It's happened before when, thankfully, neighbours have been able to return him, but sadly not this time.
Now Twinkle, the family's other pet cat, is at a loose end without his furry playmate.
“Socks is the boss and Twinkle is lost without him,” said Sarah.
Despite efforts from neighbours with the search and numerous visits to animal rescue shelters, Mr Whitesocks has not yet been sighted.
“Local children keep coming to the house to help us, but no one can find him.”
The cat is easily distinguished by his ginger coat and four white socks on his paws, and does not wear a collar.
He also has a white patch on his chest and lip, and is described as extremely friendly. “He would go to anybody,” said Sarah.
Travis has had Mr Whitesocks for two years.
Travis said: “He could be anywhere in Gloucestershire by now, and I miss him much. I just want him back home where he belongs.”

“I live in the springbank area have been looking after a ginger and white friendly cat for about a week as I could tell he looked lost and undernourished he visted twice aday. After seeing the paper on Saturday night I contacted the Echo with no reply, the police who could not get involved and the cats protection league who passed my details on to the owner. Still no-one has come forward to claim him, He had been in several fights and let me bathe his eyes and scratches to his face, he now has a poorly leg. He loves to come and see my cat Stanlie and bounds up the path to meet her. Yesterday I contacted the Echo again and also sent a photo of Mr White Socks, to date I still have not heard if this is the right cat. Last night was the first time he did not visit and I am hoping that he has been returned to his owner, my cat has been waiting for him to visit and seems quite lost without him. It would be lovely to be told that Travis has him back.”

“My heart goes out to you really. My cat went missing 7 weeks ago. I have rang all the animal charities and shelters, put flyers through doors, been all over looking for her and came up with nothing. I want my cat home where she belongs. Her brothers miss her. I hope your cat turns up soon.”
