Tewkesbury school's choir sing their way to gold award
SOME say singing makes you happy and children at Alderman Knight School would not disagree.
The 26 members of the Tewkesbury school's choir are feeling pretty content after helping to gain it a gold award.
The honour was bestowed upon the school by the government-backed Sing Up initiative, aimed at getting schools singing.
Music teacher Cath Butler said: "We're delighted because it's not easy to get.
"There is a strict criteria to meet and we had to submit video clips, pictures and newspaper cuttings to show we had met the requirements.
"The award is predominantly down to the choir but we've had the whole school singing in assemblies."
Youngsters celebrated by unveiling a huge banner which declares that Alderman Knight is a Sing Up gold award winner.
Teachers at the school are also getting in on the act as a staff choir performs at special occasions.

“Well said, Kath. TiG yet again show that they are totally useless at proof-reading their articles before publishing them.
And whilst you're putting the correct headline in, try rotating the photo by 90 degrees as well...!!!”

“TiG, This is the second time in less than a week that you have shown a nonsensical headline like the one above.
When your last proof reader left did he turn the lights out??”
