Help needed to get local Irish dancers to their World Championships.
World-renowned Sean Eireann McMahon Irish dancers (SEM), who hold classes at the Irish Centre, Horton Road, Gloucester, have many young and talented dancers who have qualified for the 2013 World Irish Dance Championships, Boston, USA. The World Championships are the Olympics of the Irish dance scene, where over 4,500 young dancers qualify to compete.
The SEM parents and dancers are fundraising to get nearly 30 young dancers over to America next year, many to defend their World Champion status. The first fundraising activity is a Tabletop Sale at The Irish Centre, Horton Road, on Saturday 6th October at 11am - 4pm. BBQ and bar available. Info: Louisa Spiers on 07876 343018. There are a range of other activities planned such as a disco, corporate sponsorship, Irish dance displays etc. Please come along to an event and support your local champions!
