“I completely agree Pete, there are individual members of staff who work for 2gether who are absolutely superb and do fantastic jobs, but talk to any of them candidly and most of them will tell you that they have frustrations with the way the 2gether trust is organised and ran.
This site has highlighted these failings on several occasions but there never seems to be any improvements made.
It's funny that you should mention the "Rethink" program as the gentleman in question yesterday also spoke very highly of the project even though he had clearly been let down on this occasion and was extremely frightened.”

“Gloucestershire's NHS mental health bodies - have my thanks and respect for the support they've given me in the past year.
I'd also add praise for the charity, Rethink - and give a special mention to Mo Ginwalla at Gloucester City Council who gave me so much help this time last year when I was in a really bad way and just needed someone to give me a hand up - thanks Mo, couldn't have coped without your help and advice.”

“dfm1973 - we're sorry to hear about the incident yesterday. We'd like to look into what happened in more detail, so please could you e-mail us at complaints.2gether@glos.nhs.uk
mellomandy and Walker100 - the national scheme is called NHS Heroes, which is why this terminology has been used.”

“Is this article serious? Anyone who has any dealings with the 2gether trust knows that there are major failings that need to be addressed before they start handing out the gongs.
Yesterday for example..... I returned to my building to find a gentleman standing in the doorway looking very confused and had placed all his possessions on the floor. I obviously wasn't prepared to just walk away and leave him there. After talking to him for a while it was obvious he had mental health issues and was extremely confused & scared. I contacted the local housing officer who subsequently contacted the 2gether trust who assured us that they would be out to help.
3 hours later we are still stood there waiting with no contact or appearance by anyone from 2gether. Eventually we were left with no choice but to get the police involved and thankfully they took him to a place of safety as by now we were all extremely cold having been stood in the cold for several hours.
These are not the actions of an organisation that deserve bucket loads of praise in my opinion. I understand there are good eggs at 2gether but they can only work as well as the overall organisation and sadly will always be judged by it's failings.”

“"Heroic" - daring, bold, extreme measures.......
While I have no doubt that the ladies have done a wonderful job and they are very much appreciated by those they help I have no doubts they would agree their actions are not "heroic".”
