Celebrity chef Heston Blumenthal is set to arrive in Gloucester to make the world's biggest ice cream for his new series on Channel 4.

In each episode, Heston will research one of our favourite eating experiences and put his unusual twist on them, making people take time out of their busy lives to come together as communities and rekindle their fond food memories.

He plans to not only make these meal-times innovative and delicious, but to make them supersized too – to amaze and feed the masses.

Whilst in Gloucester he will be looking at Britain’s long love affair with both the ice cream and the ice cream van experience and hopes to bring back some of the nostalgic magic that has been lost along the way.

On Saturday 30th June at 2pm Channel 4 will be filming Heston and his team in Gloucester Park to make what he hopes to be the world’s biggest ice cream.

Residents and visitors alike are invited to the filming and to see Heston reveal his ice cream based masterpiece.

Councillor Paul James, Leader of Gloucester City Council and Cabinet Member for Regeneration said: “Events such as this really help put Gloucester on the map and give us the opportunity to showcase all we have to offer.

“I hope our communities will support the occasion and come to Gloucester Park, enjoy the fun and be part of something that is sure to be special.”

Councillor Jennie Dallimore Cabinet Member for Communities and Neighbourhoods added: “This is a great opportunity for our communities and groups. It’s not every day you see the making of the world’s biggest ice cream by a Michelin Starred Chef!

“The City is home to the largest ice cream factory; Walls, which has been supporting our communities since 1959.”
