High hopes for new Mexican restaurant
A DISUSED High Street building could become a new Mexican restaurant and take-away.
Planning bosses have been asked for permission to convert 214 to 216 High Street, which is currently boarded up, into a new grill called Paparritos.
Ernesto Steidl is behind the plans for the Grade II-listed property and said it could create six to eight new jobs in the town.
The 65-year-old has previously owned restaurants across the world and has returned to the UK looking for a new venture with his son Mario.

He said: "We are still waiting for planning permission and so it is very premature at the moment, but if all goes to plan, we are hoping to open at the beginning of November.
"I have previously owned restaurants and I wanted to do something to keep me busy and I am a trained chef.
"I have been to Mexico a couple of time and I have always been intrigued by the food."
Planning bosses have until October 24 to decide on the application.
