FORMER Gloucester Rugby coach Richard Hill has been confirmed as the new coach of French club Racing Club Chalonais..

Hill, who was head coach at Kingsholm in the 90s has agreed a two year contract with the French Federal League One side.

The former England international scrum half left Bristol after six years at the Memorial Stadium following their relegation from the Guinness Premiership in May.

Racing Club Chalonais are based in the town of Chalon-sur-Saone in the Burgandy region of southern France.

They play in the third tier of the French domestic league structure which is divided into six groups each containing eight teams.
