Hillmen unable to drop late winner

Berry Hill 21
SHAUN McRoberts (pictured) scored two tries as Berry Hill battled to a share of the points.
Aaron Ryder kicked a penalty and a conversion, with Lee Osborne adding two penalties.
Hill were hampered by the loss of Jason Revill (work) on Friday night, but Ian Morgan stepped in at short notice, despite carrying a back injury.
Hill lost Aaron Ryder and try-scorer McRoberts to injuries during the game, but were able to bring on experienced men in Danny Ireland and Andy Wright.
Wright, in particular, had a huge impact on Hill's driving game.
Generally, Berry Hill looked like a team of individuals rather than a collective, and that lack of cohesion probably stopped them from going on to win this match.
Old Centralians, who are third in the league, tried to play a flamboyant game, but their approach lacked structure and they were certainly there to be got at.
The action flowed both ways but Hill finished the match the stronger.
At the death, with the scores level, they were trying to line up Lee Osborne for a drop-goal attempt, but Andy Wright was penalised for hanging on to the ball by the young referee and the opportunity was lost.
This week, Berry Hill face another tough test at home to league leaders Old Redcliffians.
Berry Hill: Lee Hanson, Danny Field, Rob Ellis, Damian Collins, Eddie Ruck, Lee Osborne, Aaron Ryder, Glyn Lewis, Dave Redwood, Dan Lewis, Ian Morgan, Chris Daw, Kurt Brown, Richard Hobbs, Shaun McRoberts. Reps: Andy Wright, Danny Ireland, Chris Haggar.
