Hillsborough inquiry welcomed by Gloucester man who was there in 1989

NEWS of the biggest ever investigation into the Hillsborough disaster has been welcomed in the city.

The inquiry will study possible crimes committed by South Yorkshire police officers and others in relation to the disaster, which claimed 96 lives in 1989.

Barry Leach, of the Gloucester City Centre Community Partnership, was in the stands on that day on April 15 1989.

He said: "It is the next step in finding the truth."
