Homes are on standby for flooding
THOSE living near the River Severn in Gloucester are on flood alert.
The Environment Agency has predicted that the river will peak today at 3.7metres, which means parts of Sandhurst could flood.
Sam Ray, who famously built his Sandhurst home on stilts to avoid flood water, said: "The water came over the banks on Monday, but it wasn't anything major."
More rain is on the way this week too, according to The Citizen's weather expert Ian Thomas.

He said: "We are coming to an end of this most recent spell of rain we have had, but it isn't over yet.
"There should be a bright start to today with showers coming in. There could be thunder and lightning tonight too.
"It will be much the same tomorrow and Friday will be a lot cooler. It will get colder as the week goes on, but nothing like we saw last week."
