Hope springs eternal for finding water
SPRINGS around the Five Valleys are being found and named by local history researchers.
Radical Stroud members are walking out to gradually discover, record and photograph the water sources.

They have used a 1930 HM Stationery Office publication and a 1920 Ordnance Survey map to help them list and name springs.
A party of 18 walked through Toadsmoor Valley and found seven until now unnamed springs. They have also been to The Heavens and will next map the urban springs of Stroud on March 10.
