Hunt for the balding driver who knocked down a disabled woman in Cheltenham
A disabled woman was thrown across the bonnet of a car in Cheltenham.
Police now want to trace the motorist who collided with the woman in Bishops Cleeve.
-

The 26-year-old was hit by a large, dark-coloured vehicle shortly after getting off the bus at Bishops Drive on the morning of Thursday July 29.
She was crossing over near the junction with Two Hedges Road at around 9.45am when the car, which had a long bonnet, came around the corner.
It hit her, throwing her onto the bonnet and then to the ground. She had almost crossed the road when the collision happened.
The woman was left with injuries to her right ankle, knee and thigh. Although she did not need hospital treatment she was very shaken.
A local resident came to help and then contacted the woman’s mother. An officer also went to their home to check on her welfare.
The driver - believed to be a balding, white man in his 50s - stopped briefly but gave no details before leaving.
Gloucestershire Police would like this man or anyone who witnessed the incident to come forward.
They would also like to speak with a woman who drove a light blue car around his vehicle immediately after the collision.
Anyone with information, is asked to call Gloucestershire police on 0845 090 1234 quoting incident no. 263 of July 29.
Alternatively they can contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.

“Disgraceful. Hope the victim recovers from her injuries quickly.
The assumption with hit & runs is that there is something wrong with either the driver or the car (or both), meaning they aren't prepared to exchange details. As with the recent incidents of bikers being knocked off in hit & run incidents, this driver "stopped briefly" but then drove off - so he knew he had hit the lady, but still then disappeared.
Perhaps he will do the decent thing & contact the police. Or perhaps the garage repairing his dented bonnet will put 2 & 2 together & make the call themselves.....”
