Hunt's £1,000 for guide dog charity
A WAR veteran inspired a hunt to donate to Guide Dogs for the Blind.
The Duke of Beaufort Hunt, which rides in Gloucestershire and Wiltshire, presented £1,000 to the national charity.
The money was raised by the Beaufort Hunt Supporters Club at their annual horse show.
Organiser Gill Brack was keen to donate to the cause because her grandfather was himself blinded in action.
The Duke of Beaufort, joint master of the Beaufort Hunt, gave the cheque at a meet at the kennels in Badminton.
The donation follows hot on the heels of a collection the hunt made for the Earl Haig Poppy Fund. It generated £927 at its opening meet, thanks to the generosity of hundreds of supporters.
