Ice warning after car skids off road and rolls into ditch in Cheltenham

POLICE are urging motorists to drive carefully in the icy conditions after a car skidded off the road and rolled into a ditch in Cheltenham last night.

The incident happened near the House in the Tree pub in Old Gloucester Road in Hayden at around 9.50pm.

A silver Vauxhall Vectra, driven by a 29-year-old man from Cheltenham, veered off the road and overturned before coming to a stop in the ditch.

The man was not injured.

    “I saw the car that rolled into the ditch. It's back tyres were completely bald.
    Perhaps this had more to do with the crash than the road conditions!!
    Hopefully his insurance company will examine the vehicle and decide not to pay out.
    Thankfully no one else was hurt.”
