Incinerator plans 'likely to be passed' by councillors

“These people are not idiots I'm afraid, they are aware of what they are doing and probably only lacking in the more sophisticated aspect of human intelligence which is prepared to make a personal sacrifice for the greater good.
Whatever they may say, this grouping is driven primarily by self-interest, be that personal or the self interest of their political power base. This they value far more highly than they do the concerns of the people upon whose votes they depend... or the health of either our planet or future generations.
These powerful people do seem to be lacking in political sensitivity however ... they seem to think they will get away with the act of perpetrating this dreadful waste burner on the Severn Vale.
The reality is rather a lot different.... The strong swing against these greedy un-caring and bullying Tories is already coming for what they have done since they came to power, and will only be strengthened by public resentment of what they are doing to our environment here in Gloucestershire.
The clean air which we have always breathed as it blew to us across the Welsh hills from the vast expanse of the Atlantic will never be the same again... not while this monstrosity is continuously adding to it toxic gases and particulates from the unceasing combustion of thousands of tons of plastics and other unnatural substances.
... and let us remember who we have to thank for this disgusting crime... bullying Councillor Stan Waddington and his cronies on the Tory-dominated Gloucestershire County Council Planning Committee.
Never should we again make the mistake I made at the last election ... never again should we vote Conservative in ANY political selection process. Vote Tory and not only will you get more like this ... an enormous and unwanted poison-belching eyesore dominating our landscape, but you will also get more of the same behaviour as we saw in the relentless drive by Waddington and his cronies over the past few years... to force the people to accept his will and put up with this thing. We have endured the most outrageous barrage of disinformation, half-truths and coercion... all, amazingly, financed by our taxes under a pretence of "Public Consultation" !
Remember above all that this waste burner won't make the people of Gloucestershire rich ... indeed it will add hugely to public expenditure over the next quarter century, so irresponsible has the conduct been of GCC's administration...
The people who WILL get rich from this are already well-heeled... the "Big Boys" of Balfour Beatty and Urbaser... and perhaps a few of their influential friends... whoever they may be !
It's always the same... where there's muck there's money ... and close by are the kind of people who will do anything to get their hands on it !”
