ANIMALS came to life in pictures taken by some of Cheltenham's best photographers.

Some 28 images of cats and dogs to butterflies and even a spider were entered by members of the Cheltenham Camera Club in the monthly competition.

This month Gloucestershire Media's acting picture editor, Mikal Ludlow, picked the winning image of a robin by David Adamson.

He said: "It is an outstanding image that captures on of the country's favourite birds at meal time.
