Jailed mum is appealing
A MUM who pretended her son had cancer to cheat the state out of £85,000 is to appeal against her sentence.
The woman from the Stroud area, who cannot be named for legal reasons, was jailed for three years and nine months in November after admitting benefit fraud.
The Court of Appeal has given her leave to appeal her sentence but no date has been set for a hearing.
