Japanese students pay a visit to Forest of Dean school

VISITORS from the Far East have been getting a taste of Gloucestershire life.

Last week, Dene Magna School played host to six pupils and their teachers from

They swapped the sub-tropical temperatures of home for the Forest of Dean after excelling in an English speaking contest.

They stayed with families of students in Year 10 and shadowed them at school.

They also hosted an assembly to share some of their traditional dress and ways of life and went on trips to Dean Heritage Centre and Gloucester Cathedral.

The exchange with Okinawa has been running for 10 years and Forest pupils will travel there next year.
