Jazz in the genes
ALEX Taylor, son of jazz legend Norma Winstone, is bringing his unique sound to Cheltenham.
The singer songwriter is releasing his self-titled debut album this November, and is set to perform at Monty's as part of an extensive UK tour.
Having been compared to the likes of Damien Rice and Jeff Buckley, Alex has been dubbed a troubador of world-class standing and worked with some of the UK's top talent. From sessioning with members of The Invisible, Portishead and Massive Attack, Alex has gained wide-spread influences for his album.
Despite being born and raised in London, Alex decided to break into the Bristol music scene. Once firmly established, Alex played coveted venues such as Brixton Academy, and sang with the likes of Starecase and new country favourites Phantom Limb.
