Jess Jenkinson, 11, fundraising just months after undergoing life-changing liver surgery
JUST months after undergoing a life changing operation, 11- year-old Jess Jenkinson is busy raising money for a charity close to her heart.
In December last year, St Peter's High School pupil Jess had a liver transplant while suffering with a rare metabolic condition that meant her body couldn't process protein.
Since her transplant, Jess has been keen to help the charities who have helped her family through her recovery.
"She is doing really well, she's getting along fine," said her dad Chris.

"Now she is looking to give something back to those who helped us."
During Easter this year, when Jess was at Heron Primary School, she held a cake sale making more than £170 for the Rhys Daniels Trust, a charity that provides accommodation for families who do not live near the hospitals where their children are being treated.
"During Jess's operation and recovery at Kings College London, the charity provided us with a flat where we could stay to be close to Jess and support her as a family through her recovery," added Mr Jenkinson.
"At the time my wife was heavily pregnant and the thought of having to spend time apart as a family was a great worry.
"Thankfully due to this great charity we were all able to stay together as a family."
Doctors originally feared Jess's problem could have been meningitis or a brain tumour, but she was finally diagnosed with rare inherited Urea Cycle Disorder.
She was placed on the transplant list in December 2010 and it was on Easter Sunday this year when a suitable donor was found.
For her next fundraising event, Jess is going to get her hair cut and donate it to Little Princess Trust, who make wigs for children suffering from cancer.
Mr Jenkinson added: "Jess wanted to help out as many charities as possible and thought this was a great way to achieve this."
Jess set up a Just Giving page and set a target of £50. So far she has eclipsed that total and reached £170.
She continues to collect donations.
