Jobless number on the increase
UNEMPLOYMENT in Stroud is on the rise.
The jobless total was up in all six districts of in Gloucestershire last month, rising by a total of 481 to 10,312. The county's unemployment rate is now 2.7 per cent.
The figures district by district by district are: Cheltenham 2,429 (up 109), Cotswold 759 (up 67), Forest of Dean 1,331 (up 38), Gloucester 3,202 (up 147), Stroud 1,477 (up 29) and Tewkesbury 1,113 (up 91). Nationally, the jobless total fell by 14,000 to 2.5million.
