Joe's rocking in with some bruvverly love
LEGENDARY rock and roller Joe Brown will be bringing his latest tour to Cheltenham.
One of the UK's original rock and roll stars, Joe's early career highlights include playing guitar with Gene Vincent, Eddie Cochran, Johnny Cash and other big US stars when they toured Europe.
He went on to top the charts with his own records and, in a career packed with highlights, even had The Beatles open shows for him.
In 2008, he returned to the UK Top 20 with his gold-selling Best Of album, which has now sold more than 120,000 copies.
The following year, he celebrated 50 years in music with a sell-out anniversary concert at the Royal Albert Hall, in London.
He was also awarded the coveted MOJO Music Magazine award for Lifetime Achievement, receiving a standing ovation from such greats as Jeff Beck, Joe Elliott and Richard Hawley.
His contribution to the music industry was cemented that same year when he was awarded an MBE in the Queen's birthday honours list.
The distinguished guitarist even has instruments named after him, after USA ukulele manufacturer Kala launched the Joe Brown Signature Series of ukuleles, designed in conjunction with Joe and his band.
But many fans believe his finest hour was while performing at the George Harrison Tribute Concert, in memory of his great friend, when he stole the show among some of the UK's best-loved musicians.
Joe's 30-date tour will arrive at Cheltenham Town Hall, on Sunday, April 15.
