Jon Culshaw makes surprise appearance in Nailsworth
Impressionist Jon Culshaw was among visitors to an innovative new food event.
Saturday 31st August saw Nailsworth’s first Foodswap arrive in town, as community group FFFood! hosted the free event.
Held in the Subscription Rooms, the swap welcomed many people keen to exchange homemade treats for home grown produce.
Biscuits, vegetables, cordial, chutneys, cooking utensils and (not so secret!) recipes were swapped during the afternoon in a bid to share with the community and reduce waste.

Mr Culshaw paid a visit, along with actress Emma Samms, who lives locally.
Swappers also enjoyed a Gluten Free food demonstration from local expert Angela Bee, feasted on crepes, cakes and hot drinks kindly served by The Canteen, Nailsworth, and were able to offer children an afternoon of fun as the community group provided a ‘craft corner’ for little ones.
FFfood! founder Domonic White commented: ‘A huge thank you to the local community for supporting our first ever foodswap. Everyone had such a wonderful time and so many delights were swapped without a single penny exchanging hands! We’re already looking forward to the next swap - existing and new swappers can follow us on Twitter and Facebook to find out when and where it will take place.”
Swappers were delighted when local celebrity and impressionist Jon Culshaw and Hollywood Actress Emma Samms arrived and departed with some home grown treats. A hamper full of local produce was also raffled off, with all proceeds donated to Stroud Food Bank.
