Joy-Amy at new event
POET Joy-Amy Wigman, above, wakes up every morning inspired to live her life to the fullest, despite an incurable disease.
The 31-year-old, who grew up in Stroud, suffers from fibromyalgia, which causes widespread pain in the body, fatigue and can lead to depression.
And during its worst times, when her brain "shuts down", she will have to enunciate her actions just to get moving again.
The bubbly poet, who now lives in Cheltenham, has refused to let the disease take over her life. She has performed at the Cheltenham Poetry Festival, and will be reading a collection of her poems at tonight's first Well Versed event, which will take place at The Muffin Man in Cheltenham.
