FIT-AGAIN Sione Kalamafoni believes Gloucester's brotherhood of battering rams can keep causing Premiership defences untold woe.

The 24-year-old reckons the Cherry and Whites boast a stamping horde of ball-carrying forwards that can wreak havoc consistently this term.

Former Nottingham powerhouse Kalamafoni is in line for his first Gloucester action this weekend since suffering ankle damage in the 27-21 victory against Leicester Tigers on October 27.

Excited by his potential playing return in Saturday's Sale Sharks Kingsholm clash (kick-off noon), Kalamafoni backed Gloucester's marauding pack to keep blasting craters into opposition defences.

He explained: "It's a good pack and I think there's a good feeling in the team, a real brotherhood.

"You always try to give your best for each other, and that's great.

"That has come naturally for us, with how the coaches are involved, and how they mould us in certain things, especially when we went to Tignes in pre-season.

"Hopefully that will keep on going and bring more good results and rewards to us.

"We have a lot of power in our pack now, with Ben Morgan, Akapusi Qera, Tom Savage and Will James among plenty of others too.

"We don't rely on just one or two to do that job, we've got threats all over the place, and that's always going to keep defences busy."

Relieved to be back to fitness after injury frustration, game-breaking flanker Kalamafoni said even the tiniest details can cause Gloucester to come unstuck in league action.

Calling on the Cherry and Whites to maintain top focus against Sale, he also targeted continuing to sharpen up several areas of his own game.

Kalamafoni continued: "We're back into the league and it's all up in our heads, our mindset has to be spot-on, we've got to be switched on.

"You can't expect to get away with little mistakes – any opposition at this level will take advantage of those and punish you.

"So we've got to keep our composure and continue on and stay focused.

"Concentration and mindset are important – but it's about staying in the game, in the right areas too.

"Sometimes you can be concentrating and working hard but you might not be in the game in the right way.

"So we've got to hone right in on the most important areas.

"In these last few games we've been really good at adapting to how the game unfolds and handling problems in front of us and we're going to need to keep that going.

"I'm really glad to be fit again – I'd just twisted my ankle and at first I thought it would be two weeks at the most, but it just kept on niggling, so that was a bit frustrating.

"I feel as though there are a lot of things that I need to improve, but I'm happy with how the season has gone so far.

"I feel like I've been improving a lot this year already, and hopefully I'll be able to continue learning – there's always room for improvement.

"I need to work on the contact area, and just little things at lineouts and some things skills-wise.

"It's important to sharpen those up to be able to stay in the game, and that's what I'm working on now."
