A KATHERINE Jenkins-obsessed fan appears to have struck at the heart of a Cheltenham charity's publicity campaign.

Staff at the Leukaemia and Intensive Chemotherapy Fund were left scratching their heads after publicity posters featuring the opera singing star were stolen.

The latest incident has seen the outline of Ms Jenkins stripped from the poster with a knife.

She is due to sing at Cheltenham racecourse on July 3 as part of a major fundraiser for the charity which supports cancer sufferers.

Tickets are still on sale for the open air concert which is expected to make in the region of £140,000 for LINC.

Dr Gill Rouse, who chairs the charity, said: "Our trustee who lives in Badgeworth Road had the poster on the side of her barn.

"It was meant to publicise the event to passers-by on the road but when she got up the other day the picture of Katherine had been cut out.

"We've had three other posters featuring her stolen from across Cheltenham and at £100 each it comes straight out of our fundraising funds.

"Not only that but the posters are supposed to be publicising this charitable event.

"We're appalled anyone would do this and appeal to whoever it is to stop. It really is a big concern."

LINC is leading the campaign for a state-of-the-art cancer centre at Gloucestershire Royal Hospital.

“It is strange, but even stranger is that each poster cost £100! Surely not!”

“Yes, Quedegely Guy. Great music (love the Axe ad) and a moustache that puts mine to shame - not sure I'd want his pic on my wall though! Is 'nac oes' a regional variation? I only know na, nacau and dim but my Cymraeg is very rudimentary. By the way that canal video was awesome - goes to show there's more to Quedgeley than grotty underpasses and feral youths!

And roger mellie... I hear your white stick is waiting for you at the lost property office!”
