Kennedy saw a number of chances saved in the early moments of the second half, before the former Bishop's Cleeve forward put the finishing touches to a fine team move.

Sloppy defending allowed Reading back into the game, before substitute Ethan Moore added his tenth goal in just six games to make the game safe with another expert late finish.

Elsewhere, Gloucester City struck back from a two-goal deficit to record their first home victory of the season with a last gasp 4-3 win over Stalybridge Celtic.

Tom Hamblin was the Tigers' hero, scoring twice and netting the sensational winning goal three minutes into injury time.

City will take part in today's draw for the second qualifying round of the FA Cup with Budweiser, where they will join county rivals Bishop's Cleeve and Cinderford Town.

Cleeve were 6-0 victors over Bracknell Town on Saturday, while Cinderford face a replay with Merthyr Town after the teams drew 1-1 at the Causeway.
