Kuffour extends his deal as Chairboys seek Beavon replacement
WYCOMBE Wanderers lost star striker Stuart Beavon to League One Preston North End on transfer deadline day last Friday.
The former Didcot Town and Weymouth man scored 25 goals for the Chairboys last season, but it was not enough to stop them suffering relegation back to League Two after one year in the third tier.

They have become something of a lower league yo-yo club having also won promotion to League One in 2009, lasting just one year at the higher level.
Boss Gary Waddock's summer transfer work included the capture of Dennis Oli and Jo Kuffour from Gillingham, Matthew Spring from Leyton Orient and Gary Doherty from Charlton.

After finishing last term with a run of four defeats in five games, conceding 14 goals in the process, life in the basement division has not started well for Wycombe.
They bowed out of the League Cup at Watford before winning their opening League game 3-1 at newly-promoted York City.
But 1-0 defeats by Gillingham and Southend have followed and they were 3-1 down at home to Bristol Rovers before heavy rain and a thunder storm caused a 63rd minute abandonment two weeks ago.
Waddock has brought in left-sided utility player Matt Parsons on a one-month loan from Crystal Palace.
The 20-year-old has played eight times for the Eagles and spent time on loan at Barnet in the 2010-11 season.
Watford defender Adam Thompson has joined Wycombe for a month.
The Northern Ireland-born central defender, 19, has played 12 times for the Hornets, scoring once. He has previously had two loan spells with Brentford.
Winger Sam Wood (knee ligaments) and right back Marvin McCoy (broken leg) are long term absentees and Matt Bloomfield (groin) is also out, while defenders Danny Foster and Dave Winfield are both well short of match fitness after recovering from injuries.
Waddock could make changes after a poor display against Southend.
Former Bristol Rovers forward Kuffour signed an extension to his short term deal this week and played in a midweek friendly.
He is short of match fitness but he could start.
Left-back Grant Basey could be replaced by youngster Charles Dunne after being given a torrid time against Southend.
