CHELTENHAM Ladies' College are through to the county finals after winning the Under-16 district football tournament.

The seven-a-side team topped the table with six points after drawing against school teams from Pittville, Tewkesbury, Winchcome and All Saints' Academy.

It was a 2-1 victory over All Saints that sealed their progression to the county finals after three 0-0 draws with the other schools.

All Saints were left to count the cost of that defeat, as they had drawn against Pittville (0-0) and Winchcombe (0-0) and beaten Tewkesbury 1-0 to finish on five points.

Pittville finished in third place on four points, above Winchcombe on goals scored.

Tewkesbury were bottom with three points.

The competition was hosted at All Saints' Academy, supported by the Cheltenham and North Tewkesbury School Sport Network and was a Level 2 School Games event, with the winner going on to represent the district at the School Games county finals on March 21 at Rednock School, Dursley.
