CHARLIE Sharples looks set to win his fourth England cap against Australia at Twickenham on Saturday (2.30pm) following his two-try Fiji burst.

The Gloucester speedster's place was in doubt with the return of regular wing Chris Ashton from a ban, but head coach Stuart Lancaster has let Ugo Monye go back to Harlequins.

Monye is one of 13 players on their way back for LV= Cup fixtures this weekend, including Sharples' team-mates Freddie Burns, Billy Twelvetrees and Ben Morgan, and Lancaster said there were some close calls to make.

He said: "It's tough on Ugo, who misses out this time, but Chris (Ashton) has been excellent in training and Charlie is rewarded for his performance at the weekend.

“I hope they aren't just using him as a tackle bag.”
