GORGEOUS girls and boys can now compete for the title of baby or toddler of the year.

The Echo has launched its 2012 contest with the winning tot able to take away a prize of £1,000.

Nigel Black, marketing manager for Gloucestershire Media, was at the launch event yesterday and parents have until Saturday to have photographs of their little angels taken.

Nigel said: "It was really lovely to see all the little children at the launch of our Baby and Toddler of the Year competition.

"It is one of our most popular competitions and there were lots of proud parents and cute kids at the event finding out how to enter."

There are four categories for the contest, those up to nine months, children aged 10 to 18 months, toddlers aged 19 to 36 months, and children aged three to five.

A supplement will appear in the Echo on Tuesday, October 30, featuring photographs of the children, plus a coupon to vote for your favourite.

The child with the most votes will by named the Gloucestershire Echo Baby or Toddler of the Year 2012, winning £1,000.
