Laura picked for Superstars special
MANY in Gloucestershire would say she's already a superstar.
But now Olympic dressage star Laura Bechtolsheimer has the chance to be crowned the winner of Superstars 2012.
The TV sporting programme from the 1970s and 80s is being revived by the BBC.
It plans to broadcast a one-off special this Christmas, featuring 16 of Team GB's heroes from the summer's London Games.

Laura, from Ampney St Peter, near Cirencester, won gold and silver to fully play her part in Britain's equestrian success.
Regarding this latest challenge, she said: "There haven't been many equestrian athletes over the years who have taken part in Superstars so I am looking forward to representing the riders, hopefully without causing too much embarrassment." Eight men and eight women will compete against their Team GB teammates in a dramatic and thrilling competition, as they vie to be crowned the two best all-round Superstars.
The athletes' versatility and determination will be pushed to the limit as they participate in eight different disciplines – on the track in the 100 metres and 800 metres, on the field in the javelin, in the pool for a 50 metre swim and in archery.
Race
The sporting contestants will tackle a kayak race and use their cycling skills in a hill climb.
And their efforts will culminate in a grand finale featuring the classic Superstars event – the gym tests.
The male athletes taking part in the 90-minute television special are triathletes Alistair and Jonathan Brownlee, long distance runner Mo Farah, high jumper Robbie Grabarz, swimmer Michael Jamieson, boxer Anthony Joshua, rower Andrew Triggs Hodge and marksman Peter Wilson.
The female stars Laura will face are boxer Nicola Adams, cyclist Lizzie Armitstead, judo's Gemma Gibbons, rowers Helen Glover and Katherine Grainger, taekwondo's Jade Jones and runner Christine Ohuruogu.
Swimmer Rebecca Adlington will act as a mentor to all the athletes in the swimming event.
She will be providing useful tips and guidance on technique, as well as encouragement to her Team GB teammates.
The show will be filmed at the University of Bath.
The programme will be presented by Gabby Logan, whose footballer father, Terry Yorath, featured on Superstars in the 1970s.
