Laurie pub is toast of the real ale enthusiasts
BEER buffs raised their glasses to The Woolpack in Slad after voting it the Campaign for Real Ale's Stroud pub of the year.
The town's Camra branch chairman Bob Brooks presented landlord Matthew Clark with a framed certificate to hang on his bar wall.
It was, perhaps, too easy to take late author Laurie Lee's famous favourite pub for granted, said Mr Brooks said.
He added: "Its beers have never been better in quality and particularly in temperature.
