MOTOWN legend Richard Street, former lead singer of The Temptations, comes to the Everyman Theatre, in Cheltenham, this week.

Richard, whose voice graced such unforgettable songs as Hey Girl, Papa Was a Rolling Stone and The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face, will sing these and many more at the concert on Sunday night.

Born and raised in Detroit, Richard began his musical career at the tender age of 12 playing piano and singing.

For more than 22 years, Richard performed hundreds of shows with the much-loved soul band, travelling all over the world.

Richard has received three Grammy Awards, two American Music Awards and he was also there when The Temptations were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1989.

Now he presents their best-loved hits in its original five-man group form with a line-up consisting of Lawrence Jones, bass singer Eddie Watkins, Larry Johnson and Bob Henley, who has formerly performed with Smokey Robinson.
