Leaders in crisis talks
A HIGH level meeting has been held between the leadership of Gloucester's Liberal Democrats and the Conservatives on the city council, to try to resolve the financial crisis engulfing the authority.
Currently, the Tories are in charge of the council, but are facing a vote of no confidence on January 24 because of the council's failure to complete audited accounts for 2011/12.
The no confidence vote is being proposed by the Liberal Democrats.
Their leader, Councillor Jeremy Hilton, has issued the leader of the council Paul James with a ten-point demand for information about the council's finances.

“Another attempt by the Lib/Dems to distance themselves from the Tories. It will not work. They are in it together.”
