Creative director, Paul Milton said:"We were delighted that Susie agreed so readily to be involved. Annie was known as 'Scatty Annie' and was a very articulate, well-bred woman, very knowledgeable about music, books and writing. Susie fits that role perfectly!

"The older Laurie Lee is played by Richard Derrington, an actor who quite often plays the husband of Susie Blake's characters in radio plays."

Tickets for Cider With Rosie cost from £12. Call 01242 572573.
