A SOLDIER from Cheltenham is taking a leap of faith to raise money for injured comrades.

Warrant Officer Spencer Hogg is preparing to leap thousands of feet from the Eiger in Switzerland to raise money for Help For Heroes.

The 40-year-old, who has recently returned from Afghanistan, is part of a small team of soldiers that are going to trek, climb and hike through the snow, ice and rock formations to ascend the Eiger.

They will then don their base jumping equipment and leap from the famous mushroom plateau.

WO Hogg said: "There can be no better way to raise money to support our wounded troops."
