CHELTENHAM Town striker Jake Lee has joined home-town club Cirencester Town on a month's loan.

The striker, who will turn 19 later this month, grew up in Cirencester and played youth football for Beeches FC. He will go straight into the Centurions' squad for tomorrow's trip to Salisbury.

Lee joins fellow first-year professional Josh Emery on loan at the Corinium Stadium. Emery made his debut in last weekend's 0-0 draw at Halesowen.

And with regular strikers Marcus Palmer and Scott Griffin missing through suspension and injury respectively , Cirencester manager Brian Hughes was keen to add to his attacking options.

"We've lost Marcus to suspension after a red card at Halesowen last week and Scotty is still a way off," said Hughes.

"It's a good deal for us as we get a good player in on loan and it's good for Cheltenham as they were keen to get him some games.

"We were offered him last week and said no, but with what happened with Marcus we needed to bring an extra face in."

Hughes and his men are looking forward to testing themselves against title favourites Salisbury tomorrow.

The Whites were relegated from the Blue Square Premier last year after failing to exit administration.

They have retained their full-time status despite dropping two divisions and are favourites to win the division.

"We are actually happier that we have an away game against them," said Hughes.

"The tough away games at places like Chippenham and Halesowen are coming thick and fast but we're putting in some decent performances.

"On the flip side we have looked a bit anxious during home games and we've needed a bit of extra quality to settle us down."

Hughes was particularly disappointed in the performances against near neighbours Swindon Supermarine on Bank Holiday Monday, where the visitors escaped with a 2-1 win.

"We know that we're not going to win every game we play in, and we've told the players we don't expect that of them," said Hughes.

"But I felt that we didn't make Supermarine work hard enough for their win and that was a disappointment."

"But we will go to Salisbury without any fear and with some good away performances fresh in our minds."
