What's the worst job you've ever had?
I did a temporary job many years ago making hairgrips. They had to be enamelled and, working in a small environment, it was hot and uncomfortable.
Have you got any unusual habits?
Not that I am aware of.
Who is your hero and why?
I don't really have heroes, perhaps other than my late father and father-in-law. My father lost his mother at the age of nine at the outbreak of the Second World War and his own father was in the fire service and was away a lot. My father-in-law also had a challenging upbringing, starting in the mines and joining the RAF at an early age and experienced the Second World War.
What book are you reading at the moment?
The Union Game, A Rugby History by Sean Smith.
What was the last film you watched?
I think it was Winne the Pooh with my four-year-old granddaughter.
First single/record you ever bought?
I'm Not Your Stepping Stone by the Monkees.
